FORWARD Life Coaching uses a comprehensive strengths-based approach to mental health awareness. We engage, educate, excite and empower our audience to advance self-awareness, self-advocacy and self-efficacy.
Our latest discussion on acetaminophen (Tylenol), paracetamol, autism, and context sparked meaningful feedback—and it’s time to move with purpose.
The U.S. now reports 1 in 31 children diagnosed with autism, while the global rate is 1 in 127, according to the World Health Organization. These numbers call for understanding, prevention, and early support—not fear. Awareness alone isn’t enough—we need intentionality and access to solutions.
Even though we’re making minor strides in mental health awareness across some communities, according to the CDC reported safety concerns among youth continue to rise (CDC Youth Mental Health Report, 2024). Even hospital employees are experiencing more verbal and physical assaults.
It’s time to enact solutions that help families and educators recognize early autistic-like traits, uncover hidden strengths, and replace misperceptions with real communication and connection. Every student deserves the tools to address the core challenges of adverse social behaviors and disruptions with their problem- solving skills.
🎥Stay tuned for the upcoming video produced by the North Carolina Black Alliance- a conversation you won't want to miss.

Last year, Vice President JD Vance’s flight crew was my top hotel account. During their stay, we shared meaningful conversations — discussing beliefs, goals, and a few good laughs along the way. It was a reminder that mental health and hospitality are truly nonpartisan.
The gentleman on the far left, Darrell, read my book. I told him to wait because it was still unedited and full of typos, but he assured me it was fine. The opportunity to uncover causes and solutions takes precedence over typos. After reading it, he shared thoughtful feedback — and even shared my book and message during flights with individuals who are now part of the current administration during their flights.
After ten years of presenting the same information to leaders here in North Carolina, it’s inspiring to see how our conversations and the information I shared are reaching a national audience.
Kindly share when possible. After writing 80% of my first book, a member of my sorority asked me when I was going to publish it. She said if you have knowledge in your book that can save someone’s life and you don’t publish your book for people to purchase it then you are selfish. Selfish? That conversation took place ten years ago in front of the Raleigh History Museum.
She and her husband were the first two people to buy a book directly from me.
We are in the midst of a crisis.
Recent data shows significant increases in autism diagnoses across all racial groups, but the relative increase has been higher for minority children. From 2011 to 2022, the diagnosis rate increased by 315% for Hispanic children and 307% for Black children, compared to a 161% increase for White children.
If you think the information can help others, don’t be stingy, buy them a book
Two women visit the hospital with chest pains.
One had no symptoms until the day of her emergency open-heart surgery day.
The other spent a year fighting to be believed and was told it was advised to see a psychiatrist because it was all in her head.
Their powerful stories remind us to trust our bodies, seek agile clinicians, and never stop advocating for ourselves.

Oprah once stated, "I've talked to nearly 30,000 people on this show, and all 30,000 had one thing in common: They all wanted validation. If I could reach through this television and sit on your sofa or sit on a stool in your kitchen right now, I would tell you that every single person you will ever meet shares that common desire. They want to know: 'Do you see me? Do you hear me? Does what I say

Maldonado shares how her superiors stepped in to help her escape domestic violence — protecting her and shielding her from future encounters with her abuser. Since her retirement, she’s watched the military begin to take stronger action against domestic violence. A new legal system now removes commanders from prosecution decisions, placing that authority in independent Offices of Special Trial Counsel. In just 17 months, the results are already clear: convictions for domestic violence have more than doubled across multiple branches. Her story is one of survival, change, and the courage it takes to turn pain into progress. Maldonado is also an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
